Ceramic Band
Chromalox ceramic band heaters are used to heat large cylinders and are easy to install. They are also best suited for mid-temperature applications, and can handle temperatures between 1200 to 1400 degrees Fahrenheit. Hi-Watt offers one or two-piece ceramic band heater designs, and both designs come with a variety of clamp and termination options.
Thermowells
High-end thermowells allow a pressure-tight connection that protects your RTD and thermocouple sensors while immersed in solutions or exposed to other extreme conditions. A thermowell allows a pressurized fit, but a sensor protection tube can be used as an affordable alternative if you don’t need this level of protection. For a low-maintenance alternative, consider metal or ceramic sensor protection tubes.

A typical cartridge heater offers temperature support of up to 1,400 degrees Fahrenheit for an Incoloy sheath, 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit for a stainless steel sheath and 550 degrees Celsius for a high-temperature lead wire.
