Description

Get higher performance with Watlow’s Mineral-Insulated Band Heaters, designed for easy installation into extruders, blown film dies, injection molding machines, and external tanks. These units can safely melt resins such as PEEK®, Teflon®, Ultem®, and Zytel®, up to 1,400°F, and are made-to-order based on application requirements. Multiple configurations are available based on installation and power requirements.

  • High Thermal Conductivity: Watlow’s mineral-insulated band heaters have higher thermal conductivity compared to mica and hard ceramic insulators and last longer at higher watt densities and temperatures.
  • Flexible Mounting: All mineral-insulated band heaters are engineered with low-profile clamp bars for ease of installation, with multiple variations available, including tig-welded barrel nuts, low-profile barrel nuts, and spring-loaded clamping.
  • Corrosion-Resistant Design: These band heaters are engineered with a stainless steel cover and side flow design to prevent contamination in extrusion, injection molding, and other resin processing applications.
  • Optional Thermocouple: Type J or K thermocouples are available on lead Type B with loose braid and fiberglass sleeving.
