An Overview of Vaisala’s Industrial Temperature Transmitters

Indigo500® Series

The Vaisala Indigo500® series is known for being highly customizable and modular. The series allows users to mix and match more than a dozen smart probes to measure temperature and easily connect them to Indigo510 or Indigo520 transmitters.

Features & Capabilities

The Indigo510 and Indigo520 transmitters share many features and capabilities, including:

  • Touchscreen displays made of chemically strengthened (IK08) glass
  • Local data storage capabilities
  • Analog and digital output channels
  • Configurable relay options and Ethernet connection
  • Protected extra-low voltage (PELV), main power, and power over Ethernet (PoE) power options
  • Easy connection to probes
  • Non-disruptive probe exchangeability

The critical differences between the models are that the Indigo510 handles two analog outputs and zero relays versus four analog outputs and two relays for the Indigo520, and the display version of the Indigo 510 can operate in slightly hotter environments than the Indigo520 (60 versus 55 degrees Celsius).

Indigo200® Series

Vaisala’s Indigo200® series transmitters are also known for their modularity. They display measurements from the full range of Vaisala smart probes. The transmitter’s USB port allows the host device and probes to be configured with Insight software, providing options for viewing measurement data and diagnostics.

Features & Capabilities

The Indigo201 and Indigo202 transmitters have many features and capabilities, including:

  • Easy plug-and-play with Indigo-compatible probes
  • Push button configuration interface
  • Two relays
  • Multi-parameter measurements
  • Easy data visualization and analysis with Insight Software

The key differences between the Indigo200 models are that the Indigo201 has three analog outputs (mA or V) and an optional non-display model, while the Indigo202 has RS-485 and Modbus RTU outputs and only has a color LCD display.

TM/HVAC Transmitters

Vaisala’s TMW90, TMW 82, TMT12O/TMT130, TMW110, TMW88, TMD60, TMD110, and TM110 temperature transmitters are the perfect choice for demanding HVAC applications in data centers, cleanrooms, hospitals, airports, and other critical environments. Like the Indigo500® and Indigo200® series transmitters, these transmitters work with the range of Vaisala temperature probes and Insight software.

  • TMW90: This wall-mounted probe is ideal for indoor room applications. It has an IP30 enclosure, optional decorative covers, user-exchangeable measurement modules, and accuracy up to ±0.2 degrees Celsius.
  • TMW82: This temperature-only transmitter is also a wall-mounted model for indoor room applications. It features an IP30 enclosure and accuracy up to ±0.5 degrees Celsius.
  • TMT120/130: Unlike the previous two products listed above, these models can be used in outdoor or indoor applications and can be wall-mounted or duct-mounted. They both feature IP65 enclosures, interchangeable probes, and accuracy up to ±0.1 degrees Celsius.
  • TMW110: This wall-mounted transmitter is ideal for indoor applications. It features an IP65 enclosure and optional M12 connector, and accuracy up to ±0.2 degrees Celsius.
  • TMW88: The TWM88 is a wall-mounted transmitter designed for indoor applications. It has an IP65 enclosure and accuracy up to ±0.3 degrees Celsius.
  • TMD60: Designed for duct applications, the TMD60 has an IP66 (NEMA4X) metal enclosure, stainless steel probes that come in varying lengths, and accuracy up to ±0.1 degrees Celsius.
  • TMD110: This duct-mounted model has an IP65 enclosure, optional display, and accuracy up to ±0.2 degrees Celsius.
  • TM110: This model is designed for immersion or duct applications. It features an IP65 enclosure, an optional Thermowell and display option, and accuracy up to ±0.1 degrees Celsius.
